About this site

A St. Louis pool cost resource, run locally — not a national lead mill

STL Pool Cost exists for one reason: St. Louis homeowners kept telling the same story. They wanted a pool, called two or three builders, got quotes that were impossible to compare, and had no honest local source for what the project should cost or what questions to ask. National cost sites quote national averages. Builders quote their own scope. Nobody was publishing the St. Louis version.

So this site publishes it: realistic installed price ranges for the St. Louis metro, the adders and site factors that move a quote, how permitting works in St. Louis and St. Charles counties, what ownership actually costs per year, and — when you are ready — a matching service that introduces you to a local builder who has been checked against published standards.

What we are, and what we are not

How the matching works

  1. Research first. Read the cost guide, run the calculator, skim the FAQ. Most homeowners arrive at the form already knowing their likely range.
  2. Verified request. You share your pool type, ZIP, budget range, and timeline, and verify your phone with a texted code. Verification keeps fake and duplicate requests out of builders' inboxes.
  3. One introduction. Your request goes to a builder who serves your area and builds your type of pool. They follow up to schedule a site visit.
  4. Your decision. There is no obligation to hire the builder you meet. Read the quote, check the exclusions, and take a second quote if anything feels off.

How the service is paid for

The site is free for homeowners — guides, calculator, and matching included. Builders pay for verified project introductions. That model is why we verify requests carefully: a builder paying for introductions deserves real homeowners, and a homeowner using a free service deserves a builder who was screened before the introduction, not after a complaint. Our vetting criteria are published on the builder standards page.

A note on photos

The photography on this site is stock photography (credited in the codebase), used to illustrate pool types, features, and construction stages. Stock photos are never presented as a specific local project or as any builder's work — when a photo shows a pool, it is an example of a style, not a claim about a job.

Start with the numbers

The cost guide is the most-read page on this site for a reason. Start there, then decide whether a builder conversation makes sense.
